This Privacy Policy explains how Saved (the “App”), provided by Iced Tea Labs (“we”, “us”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App or this website. We designed Saved to do as much work on-device as possible. We only call cloud services when you explicitly opt in.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we use Sign in with Apple. Apple sends us a unique user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and an email address (which may be a private relay address). We do not receive your Apple ID password or any other credential. This data is stored in Firebase Authentication operated by Google.
Saved content
The links you save, their extracted metadata (titles, summaries, thumbnails, authors), optional notes, categories, and any recipe or location fields the App parses from a link, are stored in Cloud Firestore operated by Google so they sync between your devices. Shared folders include the membership list and permissions you set. We do not read, sell, or analyze your library for advertising.
URLs you submit
When you save a link, the App fetches the page on your device to extract metadata. The page's host sees a request from your IP address as it would for any normal web visit. If you tap AI Magic on an Instagram or TikTok post, the App sends the post URL to our backend, which calls Apify to retrieve the post's caption, author, thumbnail, and (where available) video; the result is then sent to Google Gemini via Firebase AI to extract a recipe or location. We do not log your URLs server-side beyond what is needed to operate the request.
Camera
The App accesses the camera only when you tap to scan a shared-folder invite QR code. The camera feed is processed on-device and is not uploaded.
Diagnostics
The App does not include third-party analytics SDKs. Apple may send us anonymized crash reports if you opt in via your device's privacy settings.
Website analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and cookieless. It records aggregate page views, referrers, and country, with no cross-site tracking and no personal data.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and sync your library across your devices.
- To extract structured data (recipes, locations) from links you save, on-device first and via AI when you opt in.
- To enable shared-folder collaboration with people you invite.
- To investigate and fix bugs and to operate and improve the App.
- To comply with applicable law.
We do not use your saved content to train AI models. We do not sell or rent your information.
Third parties
The following service providers process limited data on our behalf:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple; private email relay (when chosen).
- Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase AI / Gemini) — account storage, library sync, and AI extraction.
- Apify — fetching Instagram and TikTok post content when you tap AI Magic.
- Cloudflare — hosting and privacy-friendly website analytics.
Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy and processes data only to perform its service for us.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete an item from your library at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, open the App and use Settings → Delete Account, or email trinhlbk1991@gmail.com. We will delete your Firebase Authentication record and your Firestore documents within 30 days of a verified request, except where we are required to keep records by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email trinhlbk1991@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. We will respond within the time period required by applicable law.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the legal bases for our processing are contract (to provide the App you have signed up for), legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the App), and consent (e.g., when you tap AI Magic to send content to Apify and Google). You can withdraw consent at any time by not using AI Magic and by deleting your account.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International transfers
Our service providers operate globally; your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your country. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our providers.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest provided by Apple and Google, and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Saved is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact trinhlbk1991@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of Saved after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
